Foreclosed homes turn into haven for thieves
By Jeb Phillips THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH: As soon as the former owners leave the homes — sometimes even before foreclosure proceedings start — the thieves get to work. They want the copper in the plumbing and the copper coil from the furnace, to sell to scrap yards. Todd Goldman, a real-estate investor, said someone ripped copper out of two of his houses in North Linden.
